Greetings from Lancaster UK & USA!
We have become aware that our email publishing system has implemented a change, resulting in the emails no longer containing all the text. We are trying to find a solution to get back to sending full text. Please follow the link!
We had a great Sunday in Crewe back at the start of May. It was so good to see familiar faces and meet some new ones. We were encouraged by the opportunity to share a bit more about our role in God’s mission. It was also really special to meet two other Elim missionaries that the Crewe church supports.
Overall, this has been a fairly quiet month for us. Minimal travelling for either of us, mostly just getting on with the day to day.
I’ve been getting to grips with my new role, carefully curating the new information that Ethnologue receives about the languages of the world. I’m still enjoying the detail, paired with making sure that the set of information that we have about a language tells its story well. We recently had a whole set of contributions of information about several languages of Vietnam, which has been fascinating to work through.

Tim’s new job means that we watch and read international news stories in a whole new way. They have become more real now that it is Tim’s job to help mitigate their impact on those who work in the area.
Last weekend, Tim travelled to North America (Lancaster!) for two weeks of meetings related to his security role. The first week is a gathering of those who are in security roles with SIL around the world, a chance to share good practice and learn from one another.
The second week will be Crisis Management Team Training. Tim will be helping to deliver some of this training, drawing on some of his experience from previous roles in Nigeria.
Dan is looking for a short-term job for these remaining months before he returns to University in Newcastle. Please pray that he might be able to find something suitable. He is considering volunteering at the Lancaster Central Library, if no paid opportunities present themselves, having made some connections there last week.
