Robinson ministry Update – 6th September 2018

This content is over a year old now. Please, read this page keeping its age in your mind and realise that not all the links will work. I'm happy to hear from you if you find anything that is broken or dysfunctional, but I may or may not be able to do anything about it!

Good morning from a rain washed Jos.

Thank you for praying for the difficult situation in SIL Nigeria. Some progress is being made but we still need more prayer for good communication, Godly wisdom, grace and unity.  We are sorry that we cannot give more details but God knows and he will know how to interpret your prayers!

Tim is heading to Nairobi for several days next week after an invitation to participate in the global funding strategy meetings. He will head off early tomorrow (Friday) morning to visit some of our Nigerian language projects on his way to Abuja to fly out. Please pray for safe travel on the roads and in the air. All in all he will be gone for just over a week so please also pray for Dan and I while he is away.

Over the last few weeks I (Ali) have had the privilege to work with a number of different people across Africa. I have skyped with Tanzania and e-mailed with Sudan and Mozambique. I have been helping to get updated information about the languages and language programs in their countries into our organisational’s international language database.  This database feeds a multi-organisational website that allows those involved in Bible Translation in one way or another to see accurate information about what the real remaining needs are for scripture translation across the world. After all, how can we make wise decisions about where to focus our God-given resources unless we have good information about where the needs are? It is exciting to be playing even a small part in something that can really make a difference at a global level!

Dan seems to be continuing to adjust to High School well. On our walk home from school the other day he told me that he had a really interesting Science lesson. I asked if they had done an fun practical but he said no, they had learned about Newton’s First Law of Motion! Love the things that interest him! He is also taking French for the first time and his current response to anything that he does not really want to answer is “Comme ci, comme ça!”

Please do pray for us if you can.

Praise

  1. Dan enjoying new subjects in High School

  2. My (Ali) headaches have reduced a bit

  3. Ali being able to do a job that she loves and that can make a difference!

Prayer

  1. For good communication, Godly wisdom, grace and unity within SIL Nigeria

  2. Safe travels for Tim, especially on the road to Abuja and helpful meetings in Nairobi
